Project Objective:
Fidelity Information Services needed a diverse pool of consultants to facilitate development for its product EMPOWER to ramp up their development efforts and at the same time aid in customizations of existing EMPOWER framework for their customers.

The Situation:
FIS is part of the S&P 500. FIS has also been named the #1 banking technology provider and the #2 overall technology provider in the world by American Banker and Financial Insights (FinTech 100).
EMPOWER, a leading LOS system by Fidelity is based on the latest .NET3.0 technology like Windows Workflow Foundation (WWF) and Windows Communication Foundation (WCF). The EMPOWER architecture is highly sophisticated and requires a solid understanding in Software Architecture, patterns & practices, third party tools like Infragistics tools, Avanade Components etc. Any development with Empower requires deep insight on all of the above mentioned in addition to domain expertise.
Each deployment of Empower typically takes around 6+ months requiring the FNF personnel to implement the customization logic as per the customer’s needs. With about 3-5 customers needing deployment, FNF found it difficult to find skilled consultants that were strong enough to understand the Empower architecture and .NET technology to produce cost-effective, timely customizations.
Fidelity required a solid set of resources to meet the above-mentioned needs in order to ramp up their development efforts and at the same time aid in customizations of existing EMPOWER framework for their customers.
Fidelity also needed individuals who had domain expertise in the Mortgage and Financial industry so as to facilitate rapid knowledge transfer and ramp up the development efforts.
